Bueno, hey, wow, i actually started that in spanish without thinking. hehehe things are going great here.

well, the night of carnaval not so hot, but everything here is <|de puta madre|>. Met up with my awesomely good friend from primary school Emma who is teaching English in France in San Sebastián during carnaval (carnival for you guys!), saw a long parade which was cool but not like it went of in Cadiz or the Canary Islands (where there the carnivals are like those in Rio de Janeiro), then went to the Death Cab for a Cutie concert and had an absolute blast there. The rest of the night then went down hill because it was freeeezing (i didn´t even get to show off my pirate costume much because of the cold), raining, the bars were too packed, i was tired (we didn´t have lodging), and our group of people (after Emma and her friend Mandy left) (6 guys 1 girl) didn´t really know what to do or where to go. we ended up in a train station to keep out of the rain and cold but it didn´t quite work, so some of us found a walk in ATM and spent a bit of time there (they slept, me no). got a bus back to Bilbao at 830am, and spent sunday sleeeeeeeeeeping.

other than that i´ve just been spending time with Spaniard. Spaniard just got a full time job waiting tables at a restaurant so we might be seeing eachother less, its a good thing for my homework i guess....

anyway. not too much has been happining, as i´ve said. my ankles=not good. will go to a physio.

well. today i went to artea three times. artea is our local mall on the top of a hill. first to accompany gema´s cousin susi to her first day at work as a waitress in ´hollywood´, second to have lunch with brandon, and third to accompany vanesa to her job interview. didn´t buy one single thing!!! (apart from mcdonalds)

ok. i´m just bored at the moment, and rambling a little bit. sorry about this.

ummmmmmmm what more can i say??? i´m looking forward to seeing mum and erica in april, we´re gonna have a blast in spaaaiiiiinnnnnnn!!!!!

csi in spanish (which i´m watching at the moment) is just as corny.

gema is returning back from cuba today, her class went there on a journalism trip.

how many more single sentences can i write?

hmmm, it looks like just one.

or two. ok i´ll stop this is getting silly.

adiós!!! miss you guys! tho to be honest, a little less than before now that i´ve found someone...........

:-P

Hey, just saying hi to everyone.
Haven´t done much lately, its all been saved up for tomorrow night in San Sebastian where carnaval will be going offfff!!! and a Death Cab for a Cutie concert which will be awesome (an american band i love that i found out about here) tomorrow night also. And i´m meeting up with Emma Cooke from my childhood (ok, and later on also) in San Sebastian tomorrow who is visiting from France for a day or two.
The only thing that isn´t going well in my life at the moment are my ankles. I haven´t gone out for a long time in preperation for this night, i hope they survive, i do´nt think they will tho somehow. This sucks!!!! And its gone from just being my ankles in pain to my feet/archilies/shins/calves all hurting. Sigh. The doctors here aren´t the same as in NZ. I need to find myself a physio, the pills i got given aren´t doing thier job.

Cool, that was a balanced entry, exactly the same amount of complaint as there was exhultation.
Hehehehe. I´m actually more happy than it appears tho.
Chau!!!! Besos a todos.

Not A Bad Day

Well, things just keep getting better, and better, and better. I feel like I'm lying on my back looking up at the sky, and time is standing still. I want time to stand still, for I am happy. Elated, captivated, ecstatic, exultant, overjoyed etc etc etc.

I have a Spaniard :-) We've been together for a week now, though we liked eachother before also. And so yeah, hence I'm happy. VERY.

Valentines day was spent not with Spaniard (who had to go home due to a death in the family), but with a bunch of USAC students sipping pink cocktails (red martini's and some very exotic cocktails indeed (one of which involved sugar rimmed glasses and floating strawberries)) and chatting the night away.

On Wednesday for my Basque cooking class we went to a ciderhouse (a very Spanish thing to do) and ate a loooooooooooot of good food, and drank some very nice cider. It comes from a barrel as magnificently demonstrated by meeeeeeeeeee . The flavour needs to be broken, which is why its done from such a distance. Yes there is a grate in the floor in case you miss the glass, but me - miss? No way, I'm a pro at this now.

What else to tell? Ummmmmmmmmmm, did you hear that I'm happy?

Falling Over

well, the real madrid game was awesome to watch, i was 5 rows from the field, as this picture shows, and WOW that was so cool. real madrid scored in the first 5 mins of the game and in the dying moments of the game so it didn´t start nor finish too well, and athletic didn´t score any goals so that wasn´t uplifting, and david beckham wasn´t playing either which was a downer, but overall it was an amazing experience.

interesting observations:
*halftime tradition is to eat home made sanwiches wrapped in tin foil
*if the ref gets close to you in the second half throw your rubbish (tin foil balls) at him
*everyone who goes to the game (well, the majority) hold a huge street party outside the stadium beforehand.
*anthony who was sitting next to me managed to jump up and touch the game ball when it was kicked out
*i also went with monique and vann

went out afterwards of course, and the whole city was out basically!!!! the clubs were packed!!!!

got home at 1 in the afternoon.
aaaaah what a night/morning.
amazing.

The past week has been ok, not too much happened.

Ate delicious duck at our basque cuisine class, slept in a lot (not missing uni tho), hung around at home, went out last saturday for paulinas 21st, have read quite a bit, so yeah, not really all that much.

What i AM looking forward to is the soccer match i´m going to tomorrow........ the Bilbao Athletic Club team versus.... wait for it..... REAL MADRID. this game is going to be FANTASTIC, and i think we have good seats. well, i hope we do, a ticket cost $94 nz dollars........... at least i get to see a good game, bilbao is going to loose of course, they are at the bottem of the table this season unfortunately, and well, c´mon, its real madrid with david beckham!!!!!

ok. hope things are going well for everyone?????????

50 New Zealand cents. Thats what i was missing while i was walking home from buying my 3rd phone in Spain. Very odd. There just isn't money that size here.

The week has flown by, I learnt how to play Beer Pong/Beirut on thursday night which was really fun, and yesterday i went to Pamplona where they hold running of the bulls in july. Pamplona was a beautiful city, nice little streets!!!!

Photos up of the past week or so soon, due to technical dificulties with Gemma's computer and Monique's computer i haven't able to upload.

In due time.
Hasta luego mis amores :-)
